National Trust: 125 Years

I sound designed and composed music for this film for the National Trust, celebrating 125 Years since it was founded.

It was a great opportunity to use sounds from my personal recordings of protests and cityscapes, and combine them with abstract sounds to create a sense of momentum and chaos. We discussed some of the scenes from Darron Aronovsky’s ‘Requiem for a Dream’ as a tonal reference point, but on our case embedding them so that they could conceivably be part of the sound worlds of the scenes.

This allowed the final serene pay off when we get out into nature all the more satisfying. A great exercise in using the full spectrum of sound combined with dynamics to elevate the story.
